New traffic management technologies

Contributing to a reduction in accidents

On November 28, IDOM participated in a conference organized by the Basque Government, on new technologies applied to traffic management. Issues were addressed such as the improvement of the Basque road network, the modernization of the car population, the growing awareness of road users, and the strategies implemented by the Traffic Department, in coordination with other institutions and with all the agents involved in facing the challenge of Road Safety. All this to reinforce the downward trend in the rate of accidents in the Basque Country.

Under the slogan Global innovation for advanced traffic management in the Basque Country, the Basque Government presented a working day for professionals, where knowledge and technology went hand in hand to offer solutions that favor the safety of people in the Basque road network.

IDOM participated with a presentation entitled “New Mobile ITS Systems, towards Personal Mobility”, along with other companies and public entities: London School of Economics and Political Science, the Basque Government, Siemens, Tom Tom and Euskalmet, among others.

The event took place at the Artium Museum in Vitoria-Gasteiz and more than 100 people attended.

Among the attendees: the Basque Government Security Adviser Estefanía Beltrán de Heredia, the Deputy Minister of Security Josu Zubiaga, the Traffic Director Sonia Día de Corcuera, the Security Director of the Government of Navarre, the Director of the Servei Catalá del Transit and the Director of Roads of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.
