Recognized in the Architecture World Design Awards

The Beronia winery in Ollauri wins the Other (Industrial Architecture) category

 

On October 10, The Architecture Community, organizer of the prestigious World Design Awards, announced the winning projects in its 2021 edition. Among them was our Beronia winery in Ollauri, first prize in the Other (Industrial Architecture) category. This award is added to the four awards received in 2020, when the San Mamés Stadium received the first prize in the Sports & Recreation Built category, the Lima Convention Center in the Cultural Built category, the University of Bambey in Institutional Building Built, and the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council in Public Building Built.

Furthermore, there is only one other award-winning Spanish studio in this edition. In its 39 categories, The Architecture Community has awarded projects by American, Chinese, Portuguese, Mexican, Chilean or Polish studios.

Other winners

Among the other award-winning studios are Ateliers Jean Nouvel, in the Residential Built (Multi-Unit) category; Perkins & Will, in the Public Building Built category; Rockwell Group, in the Office Building category; DP Architects, in the Mixed-Use Built category; Goettsch Partners, in the Hospitality Built category, or Entro, in the Cultural Built category.

The judges

The jury was made up of Sara Khorshidifard (Director of the Center for Community Studies at Drury University, USA), Oscar Kang, Partner of LEED AP BD+C (Seoul National University of Science and Technology), Shim Hee-jun (Archiworkshop ), Sunggi Park (Seoul National University of Science and Technology), Lee Yong-ju (Seoul National University of Science and Technology), Dong Gyu Kim (Gyeongsang National University, South Korea), Minjung Maing (School of Architecture from Hanyang University in Seoul), Kwon Soon-Jung (Member of the Department of Architecture of Ajou University in South Korea), You Bang Keun (Member of the School of Architecture of Gyeongsang National University in South Korea) and Seung-beom Roh (Seoul Hanyang University School of Engineering).
