Valdemingómez landfill gas to energy plant – 19 MW

Spain

Since its commissioning in 2003, the Valdemingómez landfill gas to energy power plant supplies electricity and heat energy efficiently, taking advantage of the landfill gas as fuel.

The power plant has a net power of 18.9 MW and is composed of 8 Jenbacher gas engines, of which 4 units are generating (JGS 620 GS-L.L) and the other 4 cogeneration (JMS 620 GS-L.L). The electricity produced by the motors is discharged to the local network, while the heat generated covers the internal demands, supplying hot water to the processes of the plant and meeting the heating needs of the facility. In addition, the exhaust gases of the motors are used to generate steam for the additional production of electrical energy, through a 1,960 kW PASCH steam turbine.

For the Sufi group, IDOM has developed the complete engineering (basic and detailed engineering) of the power generation plant project.
