İç Anadolu Combined Cycle Power Plant in Kirikkale – 840 MW
Turkey
The İç Anadolu Combined Cycle in Kirikkale is an 840 MW power plant located near Ankara and owned by İÇANADOLU DOĞAL GAZ ELEKTRİK ÜRETİM ve TİCARET A.Ş. This İç Anadolu Combined Cycle in Kirikkale, built by the GAMA and General Electric consortium, features a 2x2x1 multi-shaft configuration with two GE PG9371 (FB) gas turbines, two triple-pressure heat recovery boilers, and a GE steam turbine, using an air-cooled condenser as the main cooling system. Since its commissioning in 2016, it supplies 6,300 GWh annually—about 2.5% of Turkey’s electricity demand and half of Ankara’s consumption. IDOM provided detailed engineering and technical support throughout construction and commissioning.
It is a Combined Cycle Power Plant with 840 MW of multi-axis power in 2x2x1 configuration, including two GE Model PG9371 (FB) gas turbines, two recovery boilers with three pressure levels and a GE steam turbine. The main cooling is done by means of an air condenser.
After commissioning the plant in 2016, the facility supplies 6,300 GWh per year, which corresponds to 2.5% of the country’s electricity needs and about 50% of Ankara’s electricity consumption.
For GAMA-GE, IDOM has developed the detailed engineering of the plant, as well as providing on-site technical assistance during the construction, assembly, and commissioning phases.
