Emergency Response Building 112
The Reus Emergency Response 112 Building is a reference point for the new emergency care and management model in Catalonia and the first public amenity in the country with LEED certification. It has a new functional typology where all the agencies responsible for managing emergencies are concentrated. The complex is located in the landscape of the Camp de Tarragona, strongly dominated by industrial and leisure elements.
Housing all the agencies managing emergency responses
The building sits on the plot, in an elongated way on a deep slope, under safety criteria and staggering the main functional elements: helipad, parking, base and operating box-telecommunications tower. The different levels of security of the building and the different flows of people are reflected in the functional organization. Horizontally there are three levels: logistics, public and operational. Vertical flows are defined by four cores: telecommunications/visits, the authorities, maintenance, and the main access for workers.
