Four Burrows solar photovoltaic plant in Cornwall, 5 MW
UK
IDOM has carried out the basic engineering for the Four Burrows photovoltaic solar power plant, a 5 MW facility located in Truro, Cornwall, for Jackson Civil Engineering. This photovoltaic solar power plant, spanning 13 hectares with over 22,500 polycrystalline solar panels, is designed for connection to the 33 kV distribution grid, contributing to the advancement of renewable energy in the UK.
The plant with a total area of 13 hectares and 3.7 hectares of effective photovoltaic surface area (> 22,500 polycrystalline solar panels on fixed inclination plates) will be connected to the DNO HV network at 33 kV. 16 Lti inverters (300 kVA each) will convert the DC power to AC and the four-stage transformers will adapt the output voltage of the inverters to the 33 kV voltage of the public grid.
