Four Burrows solar photovoltaic plant in Cornwall, 5 MW

IDOM has carried out basic engineering for the 5-MW Four Burrows solar photovoltaic plant in Truro, Cornwall for Jackson Civil Engineering, a UK contractor.

The plant with a total area of 13 hectares and 3.7 hectares of effective photovoltaic surface area (> 22,500 polycrystalline solar panels on fixed inclination plates) will be connected to the DNO HV network at 33 kV. 16 Lti inverters (300 kVA each) will convert the DC power to AC and the four-stage transformers will adapt the output voltage of the inverters to the 33 kV voltage of the public grid.
