Kwinana Waste to Energy plant – 41 MWe

Australia

Phoenix Energy is developing the Kwinana Waste‐to‐Energy project located in Kwinana, 40 km south of Perth, the capital of Western Australia (WA), with a population of over 2 million. Kwinana WTE Project Co Pty Ltd (Project Co.) is the owner of the Plant and ACCIONA has been awarded the EPC contract.

First Waste to Energy plant in Australia

The Plant will treat 400,000 tons annually of municipal waste to produce 34 MWe (net) plus sub‐products (ash and metals).

The Plant will consist of two integrated moving grate fired furnace/boiler lines, each with a Selective Non‐Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) system and a Dry or Semi‐Dry Air Pollution Control flue gas cleaning system, with zero aqueous emissions. Each of the lines has a capacity of 600 t/d.

IDOM has carried out the basic and detailed engineering of the project, as well as assisting in the procurement of all mechanical and electrical equipment, instrumentation, metal structure, and other auxiliary supplies.
