The Master Plan is launched by EL SALVADOR, HONDURAS AND NICARAGUA

The Presidents of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega Saavedra; Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado; and El Salvador, Salvador Sánchez Cerén (at the date of the meeting), jointly agreed on the launch of the Master Plan for the Gulf of Fonseca for the implementation of trinational investment and economic development projects.

During the meeting, in addition to adopting the Master Plan, the presidents invited international cooperation to “work together with the (three) countries to achieve the implementation of the Master Plan” and asked the BCIE “to structure the Tri-national Fund for financing.”

The event was held by video conference last April, with the participation of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), the financial officer of the Master Plan, and IDOM, the technical head of the study.

The agreement adopted constitutes a historic opportunity to cement the necessary conditions of social and economic development, as well as shared prosperity in all the region.
