Computational Fluid Dynamics
At IDOM, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) plays a critical role in defining the environmental performance, comfort and efficiency of buildings and their surroundings. CFD allows us to analyse airflow, wind behaviour and thermal conditions, providing key insights into how buildings interact with air movement, temperature and the urban context.
Our approach considers CFD as an integral part of the design process, supporting decisions related to building form, façades, ventilation strategies and spatial configuration from the earliest stages. By understanding airflow patterns, pressure distributions and heat transfer mechanisms, CFD helps optimise both indoor and outdoor comfort while supporting efficient, well‑performing design solutions.
