Wind consulting

At IDOM, wind consulting is an integral part of the design process, influencing structural performance, façade behaviour, natural ventilation, and the comfort of outdoor spaces. Wind effects are particularly relevant in projects with complex geometries, tall or slender structures, and dense urban environments, where they can significantly affect both building performance and user experience.

We use advanced numerical analysis tools, including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to assess wind behaviour at building and microclimate scale. These studies support informed design decisions related to wind loads, façade performance, comfort conditions, and environmental quality around and within buildings.

When wind tunnel analysis are required, we work closely with specialist consultants to define appropriate criteria and scenarios, ensuring that results are correctly interpreted and effectively integrated into the overall design. By addressing wind performance from early project stages, our approach helps anticipate potential challenges and deliver robust, efficient, and well‑coordinated design solutions.
